Being a mom of children is very challenging. I was working as a Technical Support Representative in one of the leading BPO company here in the Philippines. I spend most of my day in the office. I worked 8 hours a day, plus the hours of travelling from and to my workplace. I was contented with my status at that time until the pandemic happened.
March 16, 2020, who would forget this date? This was when the whole Metro Manila was put in Enhanced Community Quarantine because of Covid19. I am honestly not prepared. I had no savings, since my salary at that time was just enough. My partner also lost his job because of this crisis.
I know I couldn't stay like that, waiting for subsidy form the government. I decided to apply as an online ESL teacher. I was very happy at that time considering that I already have a job to support my family. But that didn't last because students were not a lot that it can't support my family.
Then, I saw this ad on Facebook about freelancing. I was very curious what was it all about.I did some research, and that made me decide to enroll to one of their course. The Filipino Virtual Assistance helped me discover my hidden talents with planning, writing, web designing and etc, with each portfolio made on our training. They helped me create profiles on different freelancing platforms and got approved on both Upwork and Onlinejobs.ph . Now, I am still looking for a client. But I know I am well equipped once I landed one in the future. :)
